Most homes are originally designed to create a congenial environment with a live in comfortable look for the homeowners and to draw people to a elegant home. While designing our homes the five senses which we use for our everyday living plays a major role.
Five senses of Touch(textures, wall finish, paintings), Taste(elegant, live in look), Sound (Musical bells, musical clocks, wind chimes), Sight(elegant with a congenial environment), Smell (aromatic candles, fresh flowers, dried flowers, herbs) can create wonders in improving your home.
Colour adds beauty and variety to the interior at the same time affects the mood. It soothes our senses of touch, taste and sight. Warm, bright colours enlive the atmosphere of the home.
Light is one of the key elements of decorating space as it defines the space, substance and style of the home. The trend in lightning is also focusing on various types of lamps with a variety of lamp-shades add a special aura to the home. Playing and experimenting with the play of light and shadow can produce dramatic effects.
Lighting aromatic candles, choosing fresh flowers, dried flowers or herbs and placing
them on sideboards, centre tables, windows create an atmosphere that stimulates our senses of smell.
Musical bells, clocks and wind chimes calm our senses of sound after the drudgery of
work, traffic and pollution outside our homes. Even keeping the window open and hearing to the whistling of the winds through the plants in the garden outside or a bird flying across your wind can be music to the ears.
Taking a holistic view of your home through your five senses can result in great interiors.
