Poetry: Life after death

by Sara-Lily Cameron

Created on: July 14, 2007

Your staring in the eyes of a failed loved one, who happens to never look away. Your eyes are glistening in the light of what it seems to be, an angels crown. You see it all happen before your eyes. Your running, you trip. Silence is nothing short of what you hear, except the constant echo of screaming. The screams belong to the shattered life who you have failed to catch. Their face is as cold as the air itself, nipping at your face, constantly letting out a breath. Suddenly your face becomes hot, and you try not to yell out to the heavens but you have to. You yell, you scream, their not giving this life back. You fall to the ground and your eyes start to water with tears of misery. You look up at your support, your all alone. There are police, and firemen. Forensic Investigators and Crime Scene Investigators. But nothing is your support. Your getting pulled away from the lifeless form, and pushed into a car. You cannot stop. You remember about what your mother told you...Not to go out after dark. You blame yourself with the slightest of worry that your mother as right. All you're thinking now is, she's dead.
