You taking the bus to come here,
From five states away,
I can't wait to see you,
I hope you're safe,
And your stomach's full
Maybe the person next to you-
Child won't need to pee the whole trip,
I know-I'm starting to sound like your mom,
Reunions only come around every ten years,
It takes me from this harshness of the world,
And allows me to return to a softer time,
Almost like a black and white photograph-
That's been tinted over time,
As a rule, I was a terrible child,
I never did want to play,
Then I became an adult,
Well, work wasn't my play,
So I'll come to the reunion, too.
I'll love every bit,
Listening to the gossip,
About Who got married, divorced,
Who has twelve kids,
I hope you to see you there,
And maybe we will see,
That life is very funny thing,
To enjoy, to savory, to just be.
