Back in the 19th century it may have been possible to link spirituality to psychiatry. Today? Not a chance. Most psychiatrists today barely see their patients as human let alone a human possessing a spirit. The average psychiatry session lasts fifteen minutes every other month or, if one has superior insurance, every month. Is that enough time to become "spirituality" bonded with anyone? Psychiatrists today treat their patients with a pen and a prescription pad. That is it. If one medication does not get the results they want, they write a prescription for another. No psychiatrist does therapy of any kind these days. The large drug companies keep their wallets fat enough so they don't have to. A link of this kind would take years of restructuring the entire mental health system. Psychiatrists could start the process by first seeing the human being behind the patient file and not a trial and error drug experiment.
