Somewhere beyond the horizon,
Past where my eyes can see.
There are soldiers fighting.
They are trying to protect me.
They are looking for freedom,
And days that could never happen.
They are battling their best,
In a feud they may not win.
They have left their families.
They are willing to die.
They love a country,
That's being built on a lie.
Kids are being born,
That never knew their dad.
They will only hear stories,
That will make them sad.
There are people dying,
And parents that have to kill.
Long after the war,
Their mental wounds never heal.
Bombs are being activated.
Things are blown up.
We tear down and then recreate.
When will we have enough?
Everyone believes different,
But some things are the same.
We all love our heroes,
No matter what the name.
So leave those people over there,
Let them do it alone.
Take a plane overseas,
And bring our troops home.
