Homosexuality is among a few other subjects I'd rather not have my children being taught in school, or by any other adult for that matter. I believe that as a parent, I've been given the responsibility of passing on my beliefs and values to my children. Sexuality in general is a deep and personal part of each one of us. Children need to know that their sexuality is a special gift, not to be bounced around the classroom like a super ball.

It's funny, if this same question were presented twenty years ago, people would think you were mad even thinking such a thing! In today's fast paced working world, kids have become so independent of their parents, some families hardly know each other. Everywhere they turn, our young people are being solicited with sex. Dolls and television characters dressed in skimpy little outfits. We even have TV shows about gay and lesbian couples.

The bottom line is that regardless of how much we try to protect our children, they're still going to be influenced by society. If we simply talk to them, about both the big important things, and the little things that may seem trivial, your kids will see you as a friend. Friends listen to each other, and they trust each other. Wouldn't it be wonderful, to be the greatest influence in the lives of your children because they believe in what you have to say.
