A guide to buying the right crib for your baby

such as iron are rare, but expensive. Cribs can be painted different colors (but no lead paint of course)! The styles can be a fashion statement as well. The Jenny Lind crib is one where the slats are twisted and ornate, like stairs in a fancy home. Some companies make retro 1940's style four poster bed posts (read the safety tip, however). "Sleigh" cribs look similiar to Santa's sleigh on the ends. The new platform cribs place baby on a pedestal (literally!) Keep in mind, too, there are also portable cribs, folding cribs, and even round cribs! Though they all have the same function, there are many crib designs from which to choose. And this is part of the fun!

COST - A solid , well-made crib doesn't have to be expensive. There are many models on the market that are $100 or under. The Fisher-Price Emerald crib sells for about $99 and can be purchased at Walmart and Kmart. Cosco also makes inexpensive cribs which are sold at Target. Some middle of the road prices might include the DaVinci , Emily and Rochelle. These manufacturers make very attractive cribs for $250 -$700. But you can drop alot of dough on a crib if you desire a particular style or manufacturer. Several products are over one thousand dollars. The Corsican New Canopy Iron (yes, iron!) crib retails for $2398.99 but is the most exquisite crib I have ever laid eyes on.

With all the lovely (and safe!) cribs on the market, I am sure you will find one that suits your taste, and allows your baby to rest peacefully. Here is many nights of sweet lullabies and wonderful slumber for your precious new little one...Zzzzzzzz!
