Schools should not be in the business of educating our children about sex or sexuality-period! Not only should they leave the homosexuality discussion to the parents but they should leave the heterosexuality discussion to the parents as well.
Our taxpayer-funded, public schools should be worried about properly educating our children in math, history, reading comprehension and science not about educating our children about the proper way to put a condom on our that two men can love each other the same way that normal' people do.
If we are worried about children being ostracized at school because of their sexual tendencies how about not promoting a special sex-ed topic to discuss their abnormal-but- acceptable' preferences!
If private, independently-funded schools want to teach about homosexuality-let them. In the same way that we do not teach a Christianity class in public schools, let's keep the sexual education classes to private entities. But when the taxpayers are funding the school let's just teach what will be acceptable to all-reading, writing and arithmetic! Maybe, once our public schools have mastered that we can have them move on to trickier topics.
I can think of some more pressing school curriculum changes that should be higher up on the priority list than homosexuality in the classroom. How about teaching Government 101 before senior year of high school? Or adding some basic economics courses (a topic that is rarely thoroughly understood by adults in this country) to our middle schooler's curriculum that will be the foundation for understanding how the world works!?
Many of our public schools have enough trouble just turning out literate adults at graduation: Let's not entrust them with the authority to teach our children about values and procreation.
