In regards to the question, "should Atheism be taught to children" another question in the same sense should be a factor in the judging- Should Christianity be taught to children?
In both cases, the answer -of course. A wholesome person with children will always only want the best for them. From this desire, options and choices should be available for the child to make a rather informed decision on what they will believe or perhaps not. By teaching these children the parents not only let inform them on topics otherwise not explored, but also show them that they will support any decision that may come.
What if, however, the parent should deny this right to their children. The right to have information to therefore rightfully decide for themselves the belief of their own minds. Resentment is likely to occur and possibly create a rift in the parent/child relationship. If this rift is too strong, there could be a terrible outcome and likely to even affect the next generation of children in the family. With the resentment of their own past, the eventual belief of the middle generation could be then forced into the mind of the youngest, thus causing yet another problem.
