As the world grows more complex parents must be held to a higher level of accountability. For many years parents have given license to schools to teach their children principles. Parents cannot allow this to continue. For years the new idea of allowing sex education in schools were touted as "the best thing since sliced bread", but as can be seen this posture has not shown credible results.

Parents cannot give over to a physical entity the responsibility to teach basic values. Although schools teach and disseminate information they may not expound or instill principles that parents foster. Children are affected by many things, both inside and outside of schools. Nevertheless, schools are not personal. In essence they are conglomerates or in other words a soft core business that teach children. Motivations are not always pure. Nevertheless, who decides from which perspective that children are being taught.

It is hard to teach children, but when a person takes on parenthood the responsibility to teach comes with that. Although parents may feel intimidated in approaching children about sexual behavior there are resources that can help. There are many books available that can help you to approach your child in discussing matters such as homosexuality. If you have created a relationship with your child that is open and forthcoming it will make it easier to approach these issues as they come up.

What is comes down to is what do you want your child to be taught? As a parent you cannot abdicate the major responsibility of instilling principles in your children. The school can teach the A B C's and technical education, but leave the bedrock of social issues to the home front.

There are many social groups who push their agenda's in our world today. One of the mediums that they use is the educational system. What better ways than to use the school to instill values on young minds. Therefore the frontier of learning should be at home. If you do not give your child a foundation to work from he or she will be at the mercy of unscrupulous individuals who want to advocate their own issues.
