When I say Clean, her leg was suddenly broken.

Emily, oh my sweet little Emily the last of the kids and so far the easiest to raise. I guess she learned well observing her siblings. Emily was the sweetest but the messiest of my kids when she was young.

Her only down fall was,I couldn't get her to clean to save my life and her being the youngest and only 3, but so darn cute she would often melt her siblings with her funny phrases and expression when asked to do some cleaning. Her cuteness would win them over every time and they would end up doing the job for her all the while laughing.

I would say "Emily time to clean up your toys", she would reply "My weg hurt"s (Meaning her leg hurts), or she would suddenly reply to a similar plea to clean "I boke my weg", everyone would laugh at her excuses but it was getting old so time for some discipline.

As she grew older her replies would change, she would just say "OK" when asked to help out, but end up doing nothing at all but play more creating bigger messes. So one day I decided this has got to change.

It was a Saturday morning I'll never forget, I was about doing my usual duties of house work for the week ahead, 4 children were handy in aiding in these chores before they did any of the activities they wanted to do.

My oldest son Justin was in a hurry to go to a basketball game. I told him "go take out the garbage water the garden then be on your way."

Laura wanted to go with her friend to the mall. I told her "OK do the dishes, wiping down the counters and table then be on your way."

Natalie wanted to go visit her friend at her house. I told her "make your bed straighten up the front room, pillows on the sofa then be on your way"...

Now Emily had nowhere to go she was 6 years old, not much to do but play with her Barbie's, (fully knowing about Emily's lack of desire to do house work of any kind),I would make it easy on myself this time as I didn't want to bothered with yelling at her all day to do her one job of cleaning up her mess.

I thought, what could I give her to do that is not too complicated?

Going over my list still too accomplish I thought about the bathroom and how it needed a good scrubbing. Certainly I wasn't about to ask Emily to accomplish this task at her age, but thought she can help me get a head start.

I called Emily over for her chore for the day. I said "OK Emily I want you to go into the bathroom and sprinkle some Comet all over so I can just come in later and scrub it up". She gave a simple "OK", then
