Title: Women on Top! Be brilliant without being bitchy!
Does the word bitch sound only too familiar to you? If you haven't been either called this behind your back, to your face, heard it being used or used it as a descriptor yourself, then you're one of those under exposed, nave little things who needs a quick lesson on the vagaries of the big bad world.
In the Rat Race
Today women are increasingly empowered through education & economic independence. They feel like they're in control of their circumstances & can make their own destiny. With empowerment comes freedom of thought and expression. With freedom of thought and expression comes the imminent danger of the sharp tongue that can most certainly cut like a sword & sting like a bee. So is women empowerment a good or an evil? Well like almost every other thing, anything that goes to your head, inflates your ego, takes over your rationale & reduces you to a low life without a qualm has got to be an evil. On the other hand if the same power uplifts you & your fellow women then you're a winner all the way. To be real winners women need to understand the essence of femininity & hold on to it dearly instead of letting it go. Capitalize on those very qualities that make a woman different from a man & use those strengths as an advantage rather than a hurdle.
With the advent of women's liberation, women's rights, equality of women & more and more women gaining a stronghold in society at large, there is ironically an added role & responsibility the educated woman has to shoulder in what is otherwise still a man's world. She has to be a good girlfriend, wife, mother, daughter AND a breadwinner or provider bringing in the added moollah' to sustain & maintain that high standard of living. Most women are inherently, emotionally strong & find it in themselves to take on multiple roles trying their very best to succeed both in their personal & professional lives - Always striving to be super women. But its no mean task & often they end up compromising either one or both in the bargain. It's difficult gaining a balance between the two & inevitably two types of women classifications have emerged "Career oriented" & the "Homely" variety. In recent times, those infamous matrimonial ads drive a hard bargain "MBA based in the US seeking Hom!
ely, Convent educated', Professional' or Post-graduate'." The mindset hasn't changed but circumstances have. This creates a whole lot of dissonance.
Yes! To try & compete
