Buying a car seat for your baby is a task to get serious about. The safety features that are offered are a definite plus. They can include the types of harnesses, the buckling types and even the type of seat itself. Once you get an idea as to what types of seats are available, you can narrow down your search.

After having two previous babies I realized that the most important thing to me is the ease of use. The new features for the handles are a nifty idea. It appears to have an ergonomic design that contours to your hand. The particular handle that I am speaking of has a curve in the center of the handle that helps you maintain a comfortable grip without turning your wrist in an awkward direction. If you are less fortunate and must buy the typical straight across top, you are not alone. Although the normal handle is not as comfortable it has a gripper type material to help you keep a steady handle.

The other important factors to look for in a car seat would include the buckles. I am currently using a five-point harness with an aggravating buckle. The buckle for the model of seat I have has to be joined at the bottom before clipping it into the clasp. This is a difficult task to perform one handed, and it is a nuisance. The more advanced buckles are the easiest to use. These buckles have two separate pieces that clamp into the buckle individually. They are easier to maneuver with your hands full.

The last item to look at when purchasing a car seat is the seating part itself. Of course your baby will be spending a lot of time in their seat, and you want it to be as comfortable as possible. Make sure the seating area has plenty of cushion. After all the previous prerequisites have been met, then it is time to buy a head wrap around to include in the car seat to stabilize the baby's little head those first few months.
