What is this dreadful monster?
That eats away inside?
The bare face of it;s cruelty,
Too proud to run and hide.
It's passion is debilitating,
It's lust enough to kill.
Keeps us ticking over,
Till the dawning of it's fill.
It' twists itself around our bones,
Causing us to scream in pain.
Locks a chain around our heart,
So we can't ever be the same.
It rarely gets defeated,
Our attempts are all but weak.
To fight this darkened alien,
When we can barely even speak.
The horrors see no bounds,
As it intensifies everyday.
We are all but soldiers,
Seeking salvation the only way.
Who will rid us of this curse?
End the suffering that it gives.
The only present that we long for,
Is the chance to live.
