As you know, collecting teaches responsibility, and rewards for hard work. But stamp collecting can mean more then that. It can also teach you and your children about states, countries, landmarks and animals. I personally would recommend stamp collecting over anything for children of small age.
I say this because as they have the fun of collecting and having something special, they also learn about responsibility and ownership, not to mention states, countries, landmarks, and animals as I mentioned in the first paragraph.
Also, they can have this for ever. Stamps are not just a toy or cloth that can go out of style. Stamps are something that your child can have for generations and can still be collecting.
Truly, I would recommend stamp collecting for children over anything else.
