Basic genealogical forms and charts and how to use them

Basic genealogical forms and charts and how to use them:

The best place to start is with YOU when introducing the genealogy of your family. It is wise to start questioning your parents while they are still alive. The information they will give to you will be very accurate, plain, and consistent.

There are presently four popular genealogical forms and charts that individuals use worldwide to retrace the genealogy of their families. These are standard records form, family trees, genograms, and pedigree charts.

1) Standard records form

If you do not know where to start, you should start with YOU.Ignite with your full name, with the surname name written first, then the last name, and the first name. For example:

MIHY-MIHYNDU,FISA

Afterwards, you may now add your birth date on the next line:

MIHY-MIHYNDU,FISA
born in 08 August 1981

And add some information about your birth place, birth town, state, country and all possible details:

MIHY-MIHYNDU,FISA
born in 08 August 1981
Hopital Jeanne et Boris,Libreville,GABON

And now you might want to move to the next stage.Ask your father(#2)and your mother(#3)about their information by using the following questions:

When and where were you born?
What is your father's name? When did he get married?
What is your mother's maiden name? When was she born?Where was she born?
...etc.

It should look like this:

MIHY-MIHYNDU,FISA
born in 08 August 1981
Hopital Jeanne et Boris,Libreville,GABON
#2 Father:MIHINDOU,ARCADIUS
born in 1954
Mabanda(Duano),Nyanga,GABON
#3 Mother:BIBALOU,VERONIQUE
born in 1959
Libreville(Plaine Ayeme),GABON...etc.

2)Family tree

It is said that it is better to begin with your parents.Draw smaller squares or circles and put their information in(names, birth places, birth date...etc).Next,move down to their children by using the same process and so on.You could go up,starting from your parents,to get the information of their parents, grandparents, and grand grand grandparents if possible.

3) Genograms:

A genogram looks like a family tree but requires supplemental minute information about relationships among individuals. It is a graphic representation of a family tree. These are heavily used in Medicine,Psychology,Social work,Genealogy, genetic research, and Education. They contain stocks of information about the families that are being studied.

4) Pedigree Tree

A pedigree tree looks like a family tree too.It is more likely to relate to genetics and the study of genes and diseases. It is a technical medical term. And,you can also identify or rate it under the term of descendancy chart.
