Baseball has a culture all it's own. From the hot dogs and beer, to score keeping, foul ball catching, booing and cheering. There is no sport in existence now or in the past that has been so fan-involved.
Anyone who has watched a baseball game, of any sort, feels the energy in the air. The greenest grass and the bluest skies in the world could never be overlooked.
I myself am a Cubs fan and have attended many games in the majestic Wrigley Field, and I must tell you there is no way you can get closer to such a fraternal bond as what cubs fans have for each other and the team. I have heard it compared to the New York Yankees, but this in itself is an insult. We would never boo our best player continually and for such small offenses. I have not seen or heard of cubs fans booing our players EVER, for anything.
Beyond this their is always a feeling of togetherness and the possibility of greatness. Although we have not been to the world series in what seems to be thousands of years, their is always that feeling of what I like to call "Chicago Hope", it doesn't matter if we are on top of the division or dead last.
Baseball culture, in a word, could be defined as "togetherness".
