Poetry: Love

Started as a poem, I do sing a lot as a song.

"Fate, No Mistake"

The funny thing about fate, Is that it never makes mistakes,
So when I say to you that I love you, You better believe that it's true,
Don't shut me out just yet, Listen to me just for a bit.
-
All this time of wondering what is meant to be,
When I look at you, A life of happiness is what I see,
The love I have for you is not just a show,
You aren't just a friend anymore, Please don't make me go.
-
Those eyes I see, Are not just any eyes,
Those lips I long to kiss, Are not just any man's lips,
The man I dream of, Is not just a man,
He is my destiny, He is my fate.
-
Before you turn your back on me, Look into my eyes,
There I know you will see, My love so deep and real,
I'm offering you my hand once more, Take it in yours if you wish,
Forget all of your life's struggles and stress,
For this is my night, To you I confess,
Of a love so strong and pure to which there is no possible cure,
Tonight is the beginning of a love long past due,
A love to share, Just me and you.

This is our fate, To which there is no mistake.
