While I agree with the statement that both parties fall short on the matter of following biblical principles, there is no way that any true Christian can approve of abortion or gay marriages. The bible is very clear on this. Killing another human being for convenience is nothing more than premeditated murder. When God was asked how much he loved someone he was fond of saying "I loved you before I placed you in your mother's womb." That statement implies that there are no accidental pregnancies. It might be that a woman might not want to be pregnant. But that doesn't mean God doesn't want her to bring another child into the world. God would not place a baby into a woman's womb unless he wanted that baby to be born. After the baby is born the mother has no obligation to keep it. But she does have an obligation to bear it. On the matter of gay marriages God calls homosexuality an abomination. While I don't consider homosexuality worse than other sexual sins legalizing gay marriages is showing approval of that sin. When God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah he said he would also destroy those that followed Sodom and Gomorrah's path. I am very worried that the United States is falling out of God's favor because of issues like abortion and gay marriages. If you claim to be a Christian but you approve of abortion and gay marriages then you are only reading parts of the bible that you like and are disregarding the parts you don't like.
