Swallow your pride, and fill your pockets!
Every writer dreams of bold bylines and front-page banner headlines. But that's not where the money is.
Ghostwriting, or writing works for others, is a wonderful way to make a very respectable living as a writer. By authoring articles, books, and even speeches for top executives, industry experts, and celebrities, a writer can carve out an impressive niche for himself.
In the past couple of decades, I have done a lot of this: from CEO-bylined items in BUSINESS WEEK and THE WALL STREET JOURNAL to scientist-labeled feature articles in tech-y trade magazines, and from New York Stock Exchange speeches to pastoral sermons transformed into published books.
In every case, another person got authorship credit, but I got the check. Yep, a big fat check.

When inspiration strikes, we write our own articles, books, and even poetry. Heck, we can afford to!
Who believes in ghosts? At least from a writing standpoint, we do! Boo!
