fault. People train them to be vicious. To attack and defend property or their families.
The bottom line is that an animal should never be put down because people train them to harm someone or allow them to harm someone. People should however, be fined heavily for not keeping their dangerous dogs confined properly. And if it's found that someone who was bitten or attacked has provoked an animal; if they are an adult; they deserved what they got. If a child; their parent's or guardians should have taught them better. That's where the doctors and hospitals who treat the child, should make sure that the parents and guardians follow up and do teach the child how to act around animals.
When are we humans going to learn to bear the responsibility for our interactions with other species? With the environment? Children need to be nurtured and taught how to interact with other species just like they are taught to interact with each other. It's time that we stopped punishing others for our mistakes. Children should not be harmed because we fail to teach them how to interact with other species and animals should not be put to death because we teach them to kill or because we are not responsible enough to consider that they might perceive our approach as a threat.
