In the recent weeks, Sprint has issued 1200 disconnect orders to paying customers. Sprints reasoning for the disconnect is that the 1200 folks were complaining too much and making unreasonable demands. Doesn't this type of thing happen in every business. No company can make everybody happy.
Sprint has generously allowed the 1200 customers 30 days to find other service and take their number with them. They are also not charging an early termination fee, but they shouldn't anyway. The customer is not terminating service early, even though they may want to. Sprint is terminating the contract.
Shouldn't big corporations, like Sprint, be held accountable to a legally binding contract, like the lonely customer? It takes too entities to enter into a contract. In this case Sprint and The Customer. Should Sprint decide it is better for them in the long run to disconnect these folks, they are in Breach of Contract and should be made to pay The Customer a fee similar to what The Customer would have paid to vacate the agreement. I am with Verizon and they charge $175 for each phone. If they decided to shut me down, I would look for these dollars and would hope the law would decide in my favor.
