What is a flexible-fuel vehicle (FFV)?

A flex fuel vehicle is a very specific type of dual fuel vehicle. It can burn any ratio of alcohol and gasoline up to and sometimes surpassing 85% alcohol. Flex fuel vehicles, through sensors, allow you to mix gas and alcohol any way you like in just one tank with out regard to the ratio. They are by far the most plentiful of the oil conserving technologies in vogue today. And I think yesterday too. Henry Ford Model T was first to burn either or on purpose. It was suppose to make the farmer more independent. WWII, when gas was short, brought on many homemade flex fuel prototypes. True "Flex fuel vehicles" was researched at the very end of the nineties, and very quickly was made available and actually fairly plentiful in the earliest years of this new century. Qiuetly they have sold about 6 million, often not costing a dime more and sometimes without the owner really aware of what they have. The technology is very simple and inexpensive to include.

Still, with only about 600 stations that you can buy the fuel at, it is about a pointless technology. Hopefully someday we can wrestle the power away from these oil giants that really have been in power for over 100 years, 1902 was the first government action in anti monopoly laws that seem about ineffective. Ever Notice that the chevron that standard uses is the standard chevron that chevron uses. They are getting bold again, with official re-merging. Flex fuel will never make it until government flexes it's will, if it has any against the corporate giants.
