The idea that government has to provide health care for people is just plain crazy. Can you imagine how many people in this country are abusing their bodies? The abuse of alcohol, recreational drugs, cigarettes smoking, eating junk foods are just irresponsible lifestyles that have bad consequences in our bodies. I can add to these, lack of exercise, lack of sleep and abuse of over the counter medications. Then we expect the government, tax payers, to pay for the consequences of our lack of responsibility.Politicians will try to promise you anything just for votes which is very irresponsible also. It is lack of leadership.

And Christian people should understand that is not government responsibility to provide health care for people. Government wasn't created by God to do that. Government was created by God to establish Justice.

Romans 13 " Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers: for there is no power but of God; and the powers that be are ordained of God.

2 Therefore he that resisteth the power, withstandeth the ordinance of God: and they that withstand shall receive to themselves judgment.

3 For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. And wouldest thou have no fear of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise from the same:

4 for he is a minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is a minister of God, an avenger for wrath to him that doeth evil.

5 Wherefore ye must needs be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience' sake.

6 For this cause ye pay tribute also; for they are ministers of God's service, attending continually upon this very thing."

If you read "The Declaration of Independence" -"...We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. - That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed..."

There is another institution created by God, The Church, that one of its duty is to provide assistance to people in this area. The Church is is responsible to heal the sick, teach its members to stay healthy by eating responsibly, to learn about faith to maintain their health. The Church is to learn how to eat properly and feed their
