Travel destinations: Mexico

Welcome to a beautiful world of palm trees, white sands, tequila-filled margaritas, heat that makes you sweat and sunshine all day long. Welcome to wonderful Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
From the moment you step foot in this western Mexican city, you will never want to leave. The warmth instantly warms your body, if you're from a cold city like Windsor, Ontario you will know that that is an amazing feeling to have, especially in the winter months.

The first impressions of the city are breathtaking, both in the day and night time. The city lights illuminate the tall palm trees that overpopulate the small towns. The old, rugged look of the buildings give a feel of history and brilliant art is found in every small place you look. At the riverfront in the western most city, you will find many sculptures made to signify and tell stories of the city's past and when the night falls, the most beautiful sunsets stretch across the sparkling ocean as the waves gently hit the beaches.
The people you come to meet in Puerto Vallarta are friendly and welcoming. All along the streets you will find many different, fun-loving people. Even though they speak a different language, their body language and expressions make the most out of a conversation. Along many of the stony, main strips are local shops where you will find many hand-made crafts and jewellery. The resorts are well-kept, clean and affordable. If you're worried about eating at foreign restaurants, no need to worry here. Many great chefs who cook some of the best food in Puerto Vallarta are located in the resorts and around town. Besides the traditional Mexican foods or sea foods, you can find many American foods, like pizza, that is still delicious.
Among the many nightclubs, cantinas and restaurants that populate the downtown areas of Puerto Vallarta, there are many amazing adventures that many tourists love to take.
Whether its snorkelling in the clear blue reefs, swimming with dolphins, parasailing or going on an expedition into the mountains surrounding Puerto Vallarta, there is an adventure for any person, any age, at affordable prices that end with cherished memories.
The Sierra Madre is just one of the popular adventures that can be experienced while in Puerto Vallarta. The Sierra Madre is a ride where a tour guide shows you around the rural areas of the city. Through the tour, you get to experience the highs and lows of the city and historical churches and landmarks. You are also able to watch locals make pitas from scratch, and get to take a few along for the rest of the ride. Further up the mountain you can see many exotic and wild animals along the roadside and the finishing point of the whole journey is a picnic on a secluded beach on the other side of the mountain. Mingling with other tourists, as well as the ever-so-friendly drivers and tour guides, makes for a great tour. When you think it can't get to be more fun, on the ride back the tour guide produces a cooler. In the cooler are dozens of ice cold Cervezas, or Corona's, along with the traditional tequila, lemons and salt included.
So, when traveling to Puerto Vallarta always be sure to bring lots of sun block, drink lots of water, wear your sunglasses and put your party face on because this will be one vacation you will remember now matter how many margaritas you drink.
