Randolph to the Knicks is another example of Isiah Thomas running a team that looks more like a fantasy league roster than an NBA caliber squad. Randolph is arguably the best inside scoring presence in the league, but the Knicks already have one of those in Eddy Curry. Like Curry, Randolph is a poor interior defender, an area where the Knicks constantly get whipped on. In essence Randolph is a slightly older, offensively more-refined, shorter, less-athletic version of a player they already had. So on the court, yes Randolph is a bad idea.
Off the court, he is no different to any other player with a checkered past. Problem is, yet again, the Knicks have a truck load of these players. To put it kindly...Malik Rose is the calming influence and veteran presence in the locker room. This is going to be one long season for New York.
