Poetry: Betrayal

by Aliyeus

Woman or Royalty

Cute face, deep, seductive eyes.
So you step to me,
You spit game to me,
You see my royalty.
The heart I'm wearing on my sleeve,
The rare diamond in my eyes, shining from my soul.
You hear the sweetness dripping off my words, in my tone,
And it's so enthralling to you, cause you know it's pure.

I fascinate you.
And I see it in your eyes, hear it in your tone, and I'm acutely aware that I have your attention.
So I'm on stage for you, but without an egotistical flow, no, not that.
I'm so real, not fake. In fact, I'm too real, but I don't see that right now here with you.
I'm just in the moment, performing on stage for you, the one you set with all your attention and your interest in my flow.
I'm like a baby girl at heart, glowing under daddy's beam.
And I know that's what you wannna be. You wanna be daddy, you wanna possess me, you wanna control me.
But when I look to you, to love me, to protect me, to hold me;
When I look to you to accept me, to forgive me, to need me;
You utterly fail me.
But I stood on your stage, and put on my show, my flow, for only you.
And now that I've given my essence, my love, my soul, you turn your back to me.
You, utterly fail me.
You see, I forgot that I was royalty when I came down to your slums.
Let you strip off my crown, my jewels and walk me off my throne.
All for the love of you, that I thought was your promise to me.
But now I see.
How you walked me out of my kingdom, to live beneath my very birth right.
Into your territory just like a victim into the glistening silk of a spiders web.
Where, after you so gallantly captivated me, you beat me with your words and crushed me in your pride.
You cut my heart deep with your exit, left me bleeding in your betrayal.
A woman of royalty, a princess indeed, but who has yet to learn, just how to be a Queen.
