Organizing your wedding guest list

After creating many, many lists and spreadsheets, I finally found a simple solution for managing guest lists. The Knot.com has tools for organizing wedding planning that made everything easy. The list allows you to enter guest's names, whether they are on your "A" or "B" list, how many in the group, RSVP received, etc. It also automatically calculates the number of invitations you'll need.
My fiance loves going on-line and marking off items on our to-do list! I was even able to export our guest list to create an Excel spreadsheet to send to our parents.
Another great tool is the notebook section. I am able to search for vendors in my area and save pictures of gowns, cakes, and decorations that catch my interest. It is very helpful to have so much information in one place.
Another great resource is "Wedding Planning for Dummies." Again, if you like time lines and checklists this is a very helpful book. I especially liked the section on receptions. I learned what types of questions to ask when visiting possible reception sights.
I am definitely enjoying the wedding planning process now that I feel organized and informed.
