Kobe Bryant is arguably the best player in the last decade. He has had an 82 point game, three championships and has lead the league is scoring three times. He is the face of the National Basketball Association. Over the last six weeks he has demanded a trade that would be a dramatic change in the NBA. Only one team will have Kobe Bryant next season and the main contenders are the New York Knicks, Chicago
Bulls, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers. For any trade to happen, their would have to be somewhat of an equivalent coming into Los Angeles. If he leaves Los Angeles, it could be the biggest trade in National Basketball History.
The New York Knicks look like they have the best shot at getting Kobe Bryant. Knicks' president and head coach Isiah Thomas has said he will keep Eddy Curry out of any offer, but David Lee, Channing Frye and Jamal Crawford would be on the table. The biggest trade rumor is David Lee, Channing Frye, Jamal Crawford, 2008 First Round Draft Selection and Money.
Their is also a possibility that a three-way deal could occur for Kobe Bryant involving the Chicago Bulls, the Los Angeles Lakers would get the Boston Celtics' Paul Pierce, who hasn't even made the playoffs for two years, or Washington Wizards' Gilbert Arenas, who is as unpredictable as they come. This is becoming more unlikely each day.
The Chicago Bulls have the most attractive offer to the Los Angeles Lakers. They would most likely send over star point guard Ben Gordon, Luol Deng, Ben Wallace and money. The Chicago Bulls said they would most likely not do that depending on how other off-season transactions go.
The Phoenix Suns would only offer Shawn Marion plus another player of decency for the Lakers to accept.
I can not wait to see what this talented, Laker guard will do this off-season and every other true Basketball fan feels the same.
