choose Superman, but who, it's also clear, sure hopes she doesn't. I think Marsden has been tragically overlooked by many reviewers of this film. He plays the only fully human character in the film, except maybe the kid who plays Lois' son.(about whom I'm saying nothing, as I do not want to spoil the film's big surprise; I'll just say that you should think back to the second film and something Clark & Lois did)
One particular plot flaw also stuck in my mind: Lex uses the Kryptonian crystals to build an entirely new continent, that he will own, and that will crowd out all the other continents so that people will have to move there, and pay him exorbitant prices to do so. But what he ends up with is a burnt-black, uninhabitable radioactive hellscape. He expects anyone to live there? Then again, it wasn't plausible either that those nukes would make California fall into the sea. Blow the hell out of it, yes, and leave fallout that would keep people from the coast whose land he'd bought up for a thousand years. Hmm, maybe Lex isn't so smart after all.
But overall, as worthy a successor to the other two films as we could have expected at this point, beautiful on its own merits and well worth watching, for all its flaws, at least once.
