Tips for succeeding as an entrepreneur

The Spirit Within

As an inspiring home-based business entrepreneur, I know the importance of doing the hard work, advertising, marketing, cold-calls, and all of the hullabaloo that it takes for the "activity" of running a business. But what about the thought processes and attitude to running a business? How aware are we of the inner fuel that compels us to do what some may call "a silly whim", or "a phase".

When I really take time to consider that everything around me was created from someone's thought, that truly makes me excited. Look around you. That chair. That desk. That computer. Everything around us was created from an idea, impulse, feeling, or need. This is powerful when considering your success as an entrepreneur. You must use your own thoughts and "inner creativity" to set your business apart from just a "glorified hobby" to a meaningful and thriving business. The following are tips that I use daily to get my "inner man" pumped for success!

Self-Talk - Sometimes the only motivation that you will receive as an entrepreneur will come from you and only you. Use positive affirmations to move you to your success. If you are constantly speaking positive words connected to positive thoughts, then prayerfully positive outcomes will follow.

Visualization - Have a vision of your success and hold fast to it. Your mind must be actively engaged on a specific goal that you want to attain. This is not some frivolous act, but purposeful visualization that will help you to focus on where you want to go and what you want to achieve

Purposeful Talk - Allow conversations to move you to success. Avoid negative encounters and negative situations at all cost. Try to remember that you are professional at all you say and do, and treat your home business as serious as a business. Treat customers with dignity and respect, and never try to "sell" anything, become knowledgeable of your product, and let the product "sell" itself.

Faithful Thoughts - Your thoughts are the one thing that you control. So run from doubt and fear and allow your thoughts to lead you. You've heard of "that gut feeling" or "that little voice within", so allow that voice to lead you to your success. Success is not a rush job or a get-rich-quick scam, success must be nurtured and actively working. Allow your thoughts to lead you to your succes and always nurture your inner spirit.
