Pack the tent and the fishing rods we're off on another camping trip. Don't forget the Eski and the sausages or the bait. We head off on camping trips quite regularly and living on the coast in Western Australia we have some of the best 4WD beaches that you can camp on. Half the fun of camping is getting to the place you want to camp and as a family with two young children it is always an adventure in itself to pack the tent, food and fishing gear on to the ute.
When we go camping we usually go as a group with a few good friends and a couple of relatives so it is not just one of those trips that you take to get away from everything it is a trip to relax and enjoy good friends and family and have a great time. Normally the girls set up the camp and the guys head off down the beach to fish. The children play around the camp and run down to the beach and just have a fun packed adventure they can play hide and seek in the sand dunes. Collecting the wood for the fire is another adventure for them and a responsibility that they enjoy it give them a sense of pride that they have helped to make the camping trip successful.
Camping who ever said it was the easiest holiday you will have is both wrong and right the easiest part is when you have arrived set up camp and are enjoying good scenery. The hardest part would have to be making sure you packed everything from food to nappies and bug spray, with so many people to pack for you have to write it all down and check it off the list as it goes in to the bag. Depending on how long you are planning to camp for you all ways allow two days extra provisions in case of emergency or the fishing is just too good to leave.
Most of all enjoy the experience of getting back to nature and leave the TV at home there is just so much exciting stuff to do outside that doesn't need modern technology to come for the ride. Importantly remember to take you rubbish home with you and most of all enjoy yourself.
