Players pre-1980's will not be included in my list. My reason for this is the same as it would be with players in the NFL. The game has changed. Athletes today are a different animal than they were 50 years ago... but that's room for another debate.
#1- Catcher - Pudge Rodriguez. He is clutch. He hits well and fields well. He is a field general. One of the best catchers in the history of the game.
#2- Pitcher - Roger Clemens... oh wait... Nolan Ryan. I'll take the guy from the Texas. Oh wait. That's both of them. Okay, the guy who gave Robin Ventura a whoopin' for charging the mound.. .yes, I'll take that guy.
#3 - 3rd base? Alex Rodriguez. By the time his career is over, he'll be the King.
#4 - Shortstop? Omar Vizquel. Hey, 11 Gold Gloves. And to think you've never heard of him. What a shame?
#5 - 2nd Base? Eh what the heck, Craig Biggio. I mean, he only has 3,000+ hits. I guess that qualifies him.
#6 - 1st Base? This was a tough one. I love Don Mattingly... but, he never won a ring as a player. What's that guys name from the Cardinals? Oh Yes.. Pujols. Albert Pujols. I'll take him.
#7 - Left field? "Boo" all you want. I love this guy... Barry Bonds.
#8 - Center Field? Currently in an upswing, always "the kid"... Ken Griffey Jr.
#9 - Right Field? Oh why not...Vladimir Guerrero... He has a cannon for an arm, and he can hit like it's nobody's business.
These lists are always open for debate.. but, this particular one is mine. I like my odds with these guys on the field at the same time against.... ANYONE.
