Poetry: Fairy tales

Innocence... in a sense

I'm just a little girl in a fantasy world-
A winged child in the Seelie Court;
A storybook filled with demons and nymphs,
A magical land of dragons and imps,
Bold knights dressed in chainmail-
Of course I live in a fairytale.
Far away from the pains of my past,
I created a place for my childhood to last.
With trees of purple my thoughts unfold:
A sky of maroon, a sea of gold,
A place of spring where it's never cold;
A place where youth can never get old!
The eternal fountain of innocence
The smell of roses, of incense
Six-winged butterflies adorn the air
I tend my garden with loving care.
...
This world destroyed, my innocence raped
The violent orgy could not be escaped.
Now drab, atheistic, I stare.
Lifeless inside, I no longer care.
Cold, humorless, my child deceased-
I relinquish my hold to all beliefs.
