is only lowered with condom use it does not completely protected against contracting HPV. The same could be said for men as well.
It this third and final issue that seals my opinion regarding utilizing a vaccine against HPV. Other sexually transmitted diseases such as Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Syphilis can be prevented in nearly all cases by utilizing a condom during sexual encounters involving oral, vaginal, and anal sex. A condom does not afford this protection regarding HPV.
Finally, utilizing a vaccine to protect against potentially fatal diseases is not exactly unprecedented in public health in this country. Nearly every vaccine school aged children receive is given to protect them against disease process that were at one time fatal. I am not personally advocating that children be vaccinated against the will of the parent, though in the past that has been done for the greater public's health. However, I do believe that based on the information I have sited above the vaccine should be utilized to it's fullest potential which would include the vaccination of female children in the appropriate age range (9 -26 y/o).
