waste.
This also works well when done a half hour to an hour before dinner so that everyone has a good appetite.
Kitty box
You clean the cat box several times a day, and still have a bad stink coming from the litter box within just a couple days? Try sprinkling 1/4 cup baking soda over the litter. The baking soda absorbs the odors. It works pretty well in shoes, too.
Sticking drawers
Again, this isn't strictly a cleaning issue, if the drawer isn't sticking because of gunk, but it is common. To correct it, rub a bar of soap over the guides or sides of the drawer. This works for windows, too.
Pots and pans
Cleaning burned on foods from the bottoms of pots and pans can be a pain. It doesn't need to be. Fill the pan with water, then liberally sprinkle salt on the worst burned on spots. Allow the pan to sit for an hour. The salt will loosen the burned on mess, making it easier to clean. NOTE: Do not use this method with cast iron, as it will encourage the formation of rust.
Garbage disposal sharpener and deodorizer
Pour 1 cup of ice into the disposal, and a half of a lemon cut in wedges, and then run the disposal until the ice and lemon have gone through. This leaves the area smelling fresh and clean while the ice helps to keep the blades sharp. Repeat once a week or as necessary.
Carpets
Before vacuuming, spray the carpet with a fine mist of water, using a cheap spray bottle. This will keep the dust down and make it easier to vacuum up the dirt. Don't saturate the carpet though. Just slightly dampen it.
These are just a few of a great many good tips, and they should be useful for people with little time, who want to save some money. Best of all, they are simple and work for stay at home moms, dads, and anyone else who needs to do some cleaning.
