Getting ready for a vacation can be difficult, i.e. booking lodging, packing, planning your route, etc.; but, it is exciting and invigorating. Your adrenaline gets going and the work actually becomes part of the vacation.
However, by the time the vacation is over and it's time to go home, your excitement is gone and your adrenaline has taken a nose dive. The packing is just another drudgery chore to be done (just throw it in the suitcase), the return trip home is a downer, you just want to get it over with so you can actually kick back in the old recliner and chill.
And, even though you may be ready to get back to the norm, the idea of going back to work drags you down. All the unpacking and putting away everything is an unpleasant job to be done verses an exciting prep for the trip.
The amount of work going and coming are basically the same; it is just the frame of mind that changes everything - and that is what makes the difference.
The fantasy is over; reality is back!
