My Gift
Before
all alone we
faltered through the fog
of sadness, grief and regret
all alone we
knelt in pleading prayers
driven by desperate desires
Until
finally we
touched God's heart and
God touched our hearts
Then
together we
turned toward the light
of happiness, hope and renewal
together we
gasped in deep delight
of pure breathless pleasure
Now
we talk of our future
like those glimmers of light
among the glowing sunset
gliding behind the mountains,
like the splashes of blue, red and gold,
preparing us for the night's glory.
