Cowboy vs. metrosexual. Hmm. Decisions, decisions.
To me, it's a complete no-brainer..the cowboy wins over the metrosexual, every time.
At least he does in my mind. That's because the cowboy in my mind is about 6 ft. 2, 195 pounds of muscle, tight butt, and a cowboy hat that he takes off to show a great head of longish hair.
He's about 30 years old - old enough to be a real man, but young enough to be out on the range all day and still come home and be a man in bed.
He loves God and country and kids and dogs and he takes off his hat when the flag goes by in a parade. He opens doors for the ladies and knows how to dance - and he won't leave a single woman feeling like a wallflower.
He's got rough hands from working hard with them and he smells like leather. He's got a suntan and blue eyes with those little crinkles around them...
OK, my fantasy is really getting away from me.
Anyway, that's what I think of when I think of a cowboy.
A metrosexual to me, however, is just the opposite.
My first impression of a metrosexual is a fellow who's just too concerned with his appearance.
His hair has to be just so, and so do his clothes.
He drives a certain kind of expensive car, and the furniture in his house has to be perfect.
He talks about wines, but he doesn't really drink them. He swirls them around in his mouth and spits them out.
He talks about gourmet foods, but he doesn't really eat any of them - he can't afford to gain any weight.
He's critical of imperfections in everyone, including in the woman in his life. Heaven forbid that the woman gain a few pounds or wear sweatpants around the house.
Music isn't to be enjoyed, but analyzed. The only movies he enjoys are "art" films.
He doesn't believe in God - unless it's the God of fashion.
Worst of all, while you're being blinded by love, you don't notice that your friends are gossiping - and wondering if your new guy isn't a metrosexual, but a HOMOsexual. And deep down, you sometimes wonder the same thing.

Now, Iknow I'm overgeneralizing. There are really great metrosexuals out there, and unfortunately, there are cowboys who are lower than a pile of cow manure.

But if these are my two choices, give me the cowboy!
