The dangers of declining bee populations

The dangers of the declining bee populations is being over exaggerated. Native Americans had plenty to eat before the honey bee was introduced into America. One can make a simple nest for native bees. They may not pollinate as well as big business agriculture would like but for us small homesteaders, the native bee will do. Also, one can pollinate their own crop by shaking. That's right. You have to go through and shake your crop. Again, this does not work as well as honeybee pollination but it will work.
Now, I agree the honeybee is vital; however, we can make do until they are able to repopulate themselves and come back to their former hive population. I believe we have become too dependent on big business and expert scientists. We need to learn more about our native animals and plants which still populate our areas. Being aware of our native plants and animals and what they can do for us is the best way to combat the fear, the over exaggerations of the big business of agriculture, and will produce for us enough to eat.
Just to end on a happier note, I read about the huge hive which was found in the top of a tree in Florida. I wonder if the honeybees themselves had decided to have a committee and workshop on the topic of their declining population? After all, the coast of Florida is the best place to go to have a consortium on such an imminent danger, is it not?
