Absolutely! When blackberries were down for awhile America went crazy. People actually testified to that on the news. Talking about how blackberries were there way to connect to the outside world and there way of life.
America spends more time on there computers and electronics than they do exercising or doing outdoor activities.
Kids today believe they have to have every new gadget out there. Whether it be a cell phone, computer, ipod, etc. And they act as if no one will like them if they don't have these things. In school it is almost mandatory to have a computer. Almost every school assignment kids bring home these days, they need a computer to do.
Adults aren't that different either. It's almost as if it's an addiction. We start with a simple cell phone. Then we need one that will voice dial, then one that will take pictures. Then one that will access the web, etc.
Same with computers. It starts out with your basic simple computer. Then we need more hard drive space, then a better graphics card, then more ram, etc.
Digital cameras, now the majority of camera owners have a digital camera. It's as if film camera's are antique or obsolete.
Game systems, you usually get these for entertainment. But then the addiction begins. You start with something simple like a playstation for instance. Then it's a ps2, ps3, etc. And don't forget the games.
Television, radio, ipod, cd players, camcorders, game consoles, cell phones, microwaves, etc. These are some of the things that a lot of people use on a daily basis. If that's not and obsession with technology I don't know what is.
