This is the part of society, which no one wants to notice because it is a dark stigma to our way of life: Simply put the homeless issue, is a reality starring us in our faces every day.

Little do we realize, for most of the people in our society are only but a paycheck away from being homeless. Only the wealthy ones have the luxury and privilege of not having to be concern with this issue. However, they can also fall into the same quagmire and never recoup.

This is a problem as old as time itself. Only recently have people began to realize and open their eyes to the-ever growing problem which we face daily. Living beyond our means. Overspending and not keeping a solid budget. If continued at the present trend, many people are going to find themselves in serious financial trouble. Obviously, for many people soon, an old prophecy is going to become a reality. The meek, the weak and the homeless will inherit the Earth.

It is obvious; life gets harder for many people as time marches on. Many members of the workforce worked and put in twenty to thirty years in a job only to fine their retirement pensions are not enough to meet their needs. As a result, returning to the workforce to meet their needs. This trend is becoming more acceptable today as the generations are getting older and people are living longer.

I remember when my Father would tell me about the day he would retire. In addition, what he had planned to enjoy with the free time he would have. When retirement finally came, he discovered that it was not the way he thought would be. He found himself doing odd jobs just to keep food on the table. He found himself more stressed out than ever before. While my mother looked on with dismay and confusion of what the future held for them He was facing a reality that most people when retired do not even think about.

Seeing what was facing them, I would always tell them; "Dad, Mom, as long as I am alive, you both would never have to worry about not having enough food on the kitchen table". They would look at each other, turn, and look at me with a surprise look on their faces. That is how it was when my Father and Mother were alive. They are both gone now but I still reminiscent about those days. That experience taught me how to plan for days ahead.

Months before my retirement I had paid most of my bills so I would not find my self-behind the eight ball playing catch up. I did not want to find myself in a hole that, most people find themselves in when they do retire. However,
