Poetry: Sense experience

A Daydream

I long to soar like an eagle,
over mountains, dipping into valleys,
cross over clear lakes,
view this impressive planet with keen eyes.
Sit perching in a huge nest,
caring for my young,
delight in their movements and readiness
as they wait to fly away with me.

Glide and plunge amongst the clouds,
watch animals creep across meadows,
seek out fish in lakes and ponds,
catch an animal for a meal,
flap dynamic wings, exposing a robust chest,
display piercing eyes and a razor sharp beak,
feathers emitting iridescent hues,
my proud head turning back and forth,
being the eye and the ruler of creatures.

Yes, I'd like to soar...just once,
like a prodigious eagle on a mission,
keep watch over our Mother Country,
exhibiting a gracefulness to the world.
