Unsure how I lost the way,
how I let you slip by,
how I forgot us
Enamored by unimportant things,
people,
I lost the vision
the vision of you and me.
Loving you always and only, yet scared,
scared to convey the depth of my love
I retreated
people and things put before you
blinded by my youth, my fear
lacking courage to love,
to love you unashamedly,
my only love.
No longer scared am I,
not so young anymore
ready to love you wholeheartedly
to love you first
to remember the way,
the vision
the beautiful vision of you and me
only you and me.
