The T-Tapp method of fitness in fifteen minutes

When I discovered the T-Tapp Method, I was looking for an exercise plan that wouldn't take too much time, would be effective, and that would be easy on my knees. I had just given birth to my third child, and was ready to get back in shape, but didn't have a lot of time to spare. I quickly found a book title that intrigued me: "Fit and Fabulous in 15 Minutes". I was excited by the idea of working out for just 15 minutes a day. But I certainly had my doubts.

I got the book, and read it with interest. Theresa Tapp is very convincing as she explains how and why her exercises work. The book is full of testimonials, from women who have gotten results on a variety of levels. I got more excited with each chapter, and became very eager to try the workout out. T-Tapp is a workout unlike any other - there is no jumping around, and there are no crunches or push-ups, or other easily identifiable moves. Rather, it features a sequence of movements performed in a strict order and manner, that work out complex muscle groups simultaneously and focus on core strength and stability. Theresa Tapp promises that if done effectively, you will lose inches fast, improve your posture and flexibility, and tone your muscles.

Learning a workout from a book is difficult. I took copious notes, reading and re-reading the exercise descriptions. The first time I tried doing the workout, it took me 30 minutes just to complete the first sequence - which is supposed to only take about 3 minutes. However, within 3 weeks, I was able to complete the entire "15 Minute Workout" in only 22 minutes. I expect to continue improving as I memorize the workout more and have to refer to my notes less. While performing the exercises gets easier as I remember the steps, it is always a challenge as I push myself to do them more accurately and hold my muscles even tighter.

One of my favorite things about this workout is that it has eliminated my upper back pain. Carrying children (or any heavy object repeatedly) can take a toll on the body, and I thought I'd have to live with the pain for the next several years, at least. However, within one week, my pain had lessened, and now it is rare, and easy to fix - all I have to do is work out, and I get immediate relief. The exercises stretch and strengthen my back and body, and I feel better every day. It is easy to fit this workout in around the needs of a nursing infant, a demanding toddler, and a busy Kindergartner, and it is safe for them to join in too.

I don't know how many inches I have lost, but I feel stronger, my body looks smaller, and my posture is far better - it is uncomfortable to slouch now. The T-Tapp Method is a hard workout, and packs a lot of punch in just a little time. This workout leaves me feeling energized, and I'm sleeping better at night as well.

The difficulties with this workout are mostly mechanical - getting in the stance required for most of the exercises is tricky, particularly if you suffer from joint problems. However, I found that my joint problems quickly lessened as I practiced. And like any workout, motivation can be an issue, if you are used to a sedentary lifestyle. No workout can help you if you don't get off the couch.

Overall I would recommend the "Fit and Fabulous in 15 minutes" T-Tapp Workout. If learning a workout from a book is not for you, there are several videos available that feature Theresa Tapp herself doing the exercises she invented. There are also seminars around the country that teach the T-Tapp Method. For more information, you can check out the official T-Tapp website at www.t-tapp.com .
