Mosh pit culture

Mosh pit culture made it's way onto the scene with the Sex pistols. A young Sid Vicious, when only a fan and not part of the band itself began throwing himself around almost dangerously on the dance floor in front of his future band mates.
The craze soon caught on and has been popular with rock/punk music ever since.
This craze gave way to Skanking which is more popular within Ska music and various other trends.

Moshing then evolved into the head-banging violent scene we see today, what started as mindless carefree dancing has become cause to re-think buying standing tickets to concerts and the reason girls like me do not get close to their favorite bands, but rather stand at the back next to the bar.

my personal opinion is that this type of dancing, in its current form should be left to a designated area of the venue and leave the rest of the space for fans that do not wish to be crushed to death but wish to enjoy their favorite bands in peace, and perhaps with a little room to breathe.
