Yes, I believe the fans do hate Barry Bonds as much as the media portrays.
That is not to say that all the dislike stems directly from Bonds corrosive personality or from his established - yet unofficial record of steroid use.
I believe that the public dislikes Barry Bonds because the Media has told them to dislike Barry Bonds.
Do I like Barry Bonds?
Well the only Barry Bonds I know is the media presentation of Barry Bonds, the sour faced whiner who won't hit in the home-run derby at this weeks All Star game. The guy about to break Hammerin Hank Aaron's home run record only because of steroid abuse.
But the media does not tell you that the Steroid use did not span his whole career. That without the "roids" he would have hit 600 taters easily. That the man would be destined for the hall of fame without the chemical advantage.
Barry Bonds is a great ball player. Regardless of what is said in this debate. And in the end the "roids" will catch up to him.
