True Psychic Empathy

There are not many more types of psychic ability so readily misunderstood as empathy. The common thought is that empathy is simply feeling another person's emotions or possibly physical conditions. While these things are part of true empathy, the reality is that empathy as a psychic gift does not end there.
There are three characteristics of true psychic, not just human, empathy. The first is intensity. Second is integrated perception. Thirst, and most important, is almost overwhelming compassion.

The first of these characteristics, intensity, is manifested by the level of emotions and sensations that the true empath pick up. Almost anyone with any psychic gift at all will pick up some vibrations of how another person if feeling. An empath, however, does no simply pick up on what another person feels. They will amplify what the person is feeling. If the person they are focusing on is in moderate pain, the empath may well experience severe pain. If the subject is in emotional confusion, the empath may be in utter emotional collapse. This intensity is unmistakable as it usually all but cripples the empath until they learn to control their gift.
The next mark of empathy is integrated perception. This is when the subject's sensory and psychic intake actually takes over the empath's. Whatever the person who is under empathy is feeling, the empath will feel as their own emotions. What ever that person is seeing, the empath will see. Whatever attitude that person has, the empath will suddenly have. This is not unlike channeling of a spirit. The empath temporarily becomes' the subject. Thus they will feel and think along very similar line to the subject. They will also come to understand the subject's opinion about the level of pain, danger, joy, anger, or emergency that is happening in the subject's environment.
Because they understand this, the empaths will also almost always have the third mark; compassion. Because the empath lives through many more crisis than just their own they are much more willing to grant the bennifit of the doubt to other beings. They are often also healers, who's natural and overflowing compassion is greatly amplified by the empathetic gifting.
Thus, to determine if you are a true empath, ask yourself if you have these traits. Are the feelings you pick up more intense to you than they are to the person you pick them up from? Do you ever start reacting to thing you did not see or feel, but your subject did? And do you have an innate understanding of human feeling that leads you to easily take pity and grant mercy?
These thing are essential for the true psychic empath.
