ELVIS THE KING (1935-1977)
I am not going to do a complete bio on The King just a few insights into what I have listened to over at least 45 of my 52 years on this Earth.I was first introduced to Elvis at the age of 7 -Not in person I must add- my parents were massive fans and had his music playing all the time.I must admit I was not a great fan of his Movies but I would watch them just to hear him sing.
.............................. ........................
THE VOICE... I am sure any professional singer would appreciate that Elvis could sing any song and make it his own, From Rock to Country to Ballads.
...................... .............................. ...
THE PERFORMER... Easily the greatest showman of our time packed arenas of adoring fans at every where he went.
......................... ..............................
Elvis was renowned world wide the great shame is that he was never allowed to tour outside the U.S.A. thanks mainly to Col.Tom Parker for reasons I wont go into but are well documented.Sadly when Elvis started to tour again after his long break things began to go downhill, His divorce from Priscilla and his fathers Ill health probably the main factors that contributed to mood swings. temper tantrums
and sometimes violent outbursts, Though he had some great songs during the period from 1969 up to his death I personally don't think his heart was in it any more. The pressure sadly came to bear and the rest is history
Today 'Elvis the Legend' is still going strong and a younger generation of fans have come to appreciate what we have always known...........
