Cocktail shakers are one the most common instrument that is used in the bars.As the name suggests it basically used for mixing of the cocktails and ice.Once all the ingredients are added and ice is poured a cocktail shakers is used for mainly two purpose.First for the nice mixing of all the ingredients and for the quick chilling of the drink.
There are basically two types of shakers the boston shaker and the cobbler shaker.
In boston shaker we have two parts one metal glass and other a glass tumbler.We add all the ingredients in the tumbler put the metal glass on it ,shake it well.And remove the metal glass after slapping.Cobbler shaker is the simpler one used at homes.It has a metal tumbler,a snug fitting lid and a small cap.It is quite straight forward but it takes time.
Well so if You want to buy a cocktail shaker for professional purpose i would suggest you to go for a boston shaker an if just for home then go for cobbler shakers.
